Hi, I'm Florian. I'm an antidisciplinary developer who builds software, hardware and everything in between. I use technology to explore and discover the gateways between systems and humans.

The projects I'm working on are not always about building digital services. Visualizing complex information in a meaningful way by analysing different data sources or building physical objects for Edge-Computing & IoT Design are also fields I'm enthusiastic about.

When exploring new ideas and projects, I have to work out whether I need to discover, build and validate the technology or whether I can use existing tools and processes for a best practice approach. Most of the times it is something in the middle.

For me this means you have to be able to bring an idea to live quickly, so that you have an artifact which you can iterate on. I mostly use modern JavaScript for this process. It gives me the freedom of outlining concepts either on the user-facing side with e.g. ReactJS or React-Native or to implement a sketch of a backend service in a Node.js environment. By using ECMAScript in this manner, shifting features from back- to frontend and vice versa enables me to create functional prototypes rapidly. By automating the in-between steps with different tools, I have more time to explore other approaches and paths to open up the space for options to discuss.

My main goal is to find problems by using technology in order to figure out possible solutions.

Generative Board Games is an exploration in the intersection between artificial intelligence and creativity. By using a GPT-2 model, trained on over thousand board-game rules, we are able to generate unique instructions to never exisiting boardgames. Additionally to the instructions, a StyleGAN model generates the cover to the new game. You just have to provide a name to a game you want to play and let the AI do the rest.



Sproute helps to diversify how you travel by offering a set of characters that all get you to your destination in different ways. It consists of a nodejs backend service with the route calculation algorithms, data fetching from open source mapping services and a user friendly react-native app to display your different route types.

PrinterPrinter v2 is the second iteration of the printerprinter project. It uses the original idea and utilizes the hardware to create a personlized newsfeed in combination with the turbohaus8000 project or integrates as a feature in other services.

Turbohaus8000 is an experimental home automation project which combines different IoT sensors and devices around a core decision and gateway unit. The purpose of the project is to research and develop services that support you in your personal day-to-day tasks.

Printerprinter v1 (formely thing for the internet) is the attempt to connect the digital and physical world. By sending short messages from a companion Ionic app to the raspberry pi connected thermal printer, the information transforms from a digital asset to a physical one and has no dependencies to the digital world anymore.

Decentralized Energy Concept

This is the explorative prototype and research of my bachelor thesis. The paper asked the question if the blockchain technology can help the energy market by shifting the energy production from centralized power plants to decentralized, local community driven concepts.
